Position Summary:
Codon Devices is seeking an experienced molecular biologist to support the research in Applications Group. The position is within the Applications team and will involve standard and advanced molecular biology techniques applied to the development of new techniques of assembly of complex DNA constructs with an emphasis on different DNA library construction techniques. This laboratory position will require a solid technical background, strong communication skills, and creative problem-solving abilities. Teamwork and the ability to work independently are equally important.
Responsibilities:

Performs molecular biology techniques such as PCR amplification, DNA ligation, transformation, and other more advanced methods as necessary.

Uses creative problem-solving skills to independently troubleshoot processes.

Does background scientific reading to develop new techniques of DNA library construction.

Involves in technical discussions about DNA library synthesis and its applications to other fields.

With guidance from management, designs and performs experiments towards the development of different DNA library synthesis techniques.

Routinely tracks and documents results and process-related information in notebooks and databases.

Communicates data and experimental results to the Managers in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
B.S. or M.S in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or equivalent and 0-3 years experience, preferably in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical

Position Summary:
Experienced candidate to join Codon Devices' Manufacturing group supporting the synthetic assembly of custom ordered DNA sequences.
Shifts Available: Saturday & Sunday, 8am-4pm
Responsibilities:

Contributes to the overall goals of the Manufacturing group by performing automated protocols for colony streaking and picking, plasmid preparation, sequence reaction setup, reaction cleanup, and sequence detection.

Performs molecular biology techniques such as DNA ligation, transformation, and other more advanced methods as necessary.

With guidance from management, designs and performs experiments to improve sample quality, reduce costs, and increase process efficiency.

Ensures a robust process through quality control, workflow rationalization, and continuous process improvement.

Uses creative problem-solving skills to independently troubleshoot processes and instrumentation.

Works with the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMs) to register and query sample-related process and quality information and to maintain seamless sample tracking in the laboratory.

The position is within the Advanced Molecular Assemblies team and will involve standard and advanced molecular biology techniques applied to the assembly of complex DNA constructs. This laboratory position will require a solid technical background, strong communication skills, and creative problem-solving abilities. Teamwork and the ability to work independently are equally important.

Contributes to the overall goals of the Manufacturing group by performing protocols for the assembly of DNA constructs. The molecular biology techniques include ligation, transformation, restriction digests, and other more advanced methods as necessary.

Corporate Attorney - Part-Time
Position Summary:
Codon Devices is seeking a general corporate attorney to join the Codon Devices' Legal Department to support the Sales and Marketing team and to provide general legal guidance in other areas of the Company. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Intellectual Property and Chief Patent Counsel. This is a part-time opportunity with an expectation of about 25 hours/week and a set schedule.
Responsibilities:

Drafting and negotiating contracts and ancillary agreements, including sales contracts, confidentiality agreements, collaboration agreements, development agreements, service agreements, quotations, etc.

Reviewing and revising third party contracts and agreements.

Providing legal guidance on contract interpretation.

Supporting general legal function, including coordinating with outside counsel on diverse legal matters.
Qualifications:
JD and at least 3 years experience in corporate or business law in a large law firm setting; in-house experience, especially in a start-up enviroment, is a plus. Preference will be given to

Logistics Coordinator
Position Summary:
Codon Devices is seeking Logistics Coordinator. In this key operational role, you will contribute to overall departmental and company goals by overseeing the QA/QC and delivery of company products. This position will require strong organizational skills, great communication, and basic molecular biology knowledge. This position is a hands-on position with both laboratory and administrative duties.

Laboratory Manager
Position Summary:
Codon Devices is seeking an experienced laboratory manager. In this key operational role, you will contribute to overall departmental and company goals by overseeing day-to-day laboratory operations.
This position will require strong organizational skills, a solid technical background, and significant initiative and decisiveness. This person will be responsible for ensuring that laboratory operations run efficiently throughout the company. This includes the management of facilities, permitting, safety, laboratory organization and layout, and basic laboratory services.
Responsibilities:

Manage any and all requests from company employees related to facilities. This includes contacting vendors regarding installation and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems as needed and ensuring that all building systems are working properly.

Proactively identify laboratory hardware and fixtures that need replacement or installation.
-
As the company’s Safety Officer, outline and implement safety regulations company-wide.
-
Train new employees and offer additional training to current employees.
-
Ensure that the company is consistently in compliance with local and federal agencies.

Obtain and maintain all company permits related to safety and facilities.

Review and propose improved laboratory layout schemes to maximize the use of existing and future space.

Coordinate any laboratory or office relocations.

Oversee laboratory services including hands-on supply management and media preparation.

Manage critical reagent supplies and work closely with the Purchasing Manager to ensure that a solid supply chain extends to the laboratory.

Qualifications:
B.S. or M.S. in Life Sciences. Four or more years of life sciences experience, preferably in a high-throughput production environment. Two or more years of experience in a laboratory management role. Solid organizational and communication skills. Must be proactive and demonstrate initiative. The ability to work under deadlines and work independently is also essential. Proven management skills and the ability to make decisions effectively, solve problems creatively, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience troubleshooting basic laboratory equipment.

Inside Sales Representative
Position Summary:
If you are ready for a new and exciting challenge, we have an opportunity for an Inside Sales Representative. The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) will be primarily responsible for developing a pipeline of pre-qualified prospects. The ISR manages inquiries by phone and/or web, identifies target accounts decision makers, sets up appointments for corporate field sales and reports results to the Vice President of Sales. Will be required to proactively initiate and manage cold call activities into a target list of suspects, warm calls from trade show and other incoming lead sources. Conduct outbound telephone prospecting based on lists of target customers provided by marketing.

Contact customers for purposes of data clean-up, contact discovery, event enrollment, reminder calls and other key activities.

Must have a strong phone presence and interpersonal skills dealing with both internal and external clients, as well as prospects. Must be customer service focused. Demonstrated ability to handle objections and close sales. Strong relationship building skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Positive attitude with ability to readily adapt to change. Highly organized and attentive to details. Excellent time management and prioritization skills. 1-2 years of prior telesales experience with a proven track record of success. AA or BS in Life Science (preferred). Great communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written). Ability to work as part of a team. Prior experience in use of Microsoft Office and database/CRM applications.
